Drink it. Wear it.
Most of us love a good coffee in the morning or in the middle of the afternoon. Myself for example, I have my morning cup of Tassimo Coffee at home and another one at the office, it is great. And if your passion for coffee is like mine, you will be glad to hear that you are now able to not only drink your favourite brand of coffee but to also wear clothes made of coffee.
Thanks to Singtex – a company in Taiwan – we can wear clothes made of coffee. The idea for the coffee clothes came from the company’s CEO while he was having a coffee at a Starbucks store which today is the coffee ground supplier for which the fabric is made of.
The fabric, named S.Cafe, is eco-friendly as well as light, soft, breathable and flexible. It is ideal for outdoors sports such as walking, running and rock climbing and also for indoors as yoga and pilates.
Only half a cup of coffee ground is used to manufacture one T-shirt and the quality and texture of the finished clothes is very similar to those made of bamboo.
Coffee clothes are joining the every growing range of environmental friendly materials such as bamboo, hemp, recycled plastic bottles and nettles. These are green initiatives that aim to provide an alternative that is eco-friendly when it comes to what we wear.
So next time, drink it and wear it.
